The need for restoring balance.
One of my earlier articles was titled "The Necessary rise of Women". Within that work I mentioned the necessary return of the divine feminine to this world. I suspect this will be terrain I tend for many years. This article reflects on approaching the divine feminine within us. In another article, "Self Compassion Through the Embrace of the Divine Feminine" I look at one healing aspect brought to us from the divine feminine.
We live in unbalanced times. Male-ism is dominant over female-ism, in our religions, our states, our businesses, our entertainment. Great harm is visited daily upon ourselves, our families, our communities, our planet through this great imbalance.
The rise of the divine feminine within each one of us, within our social structures, within all aspects of our lives must occur. This rise and embrace of the divine feminine will restore balance and health to a very broken world.
What do I mean when I say “divine feminine?”
Many of us have fallen asleep to her presence or have been taught to fear her or reject her. And this fear and rejection of the divine feminine lies at the heart of our wounding, our children’s anguish, our elder’s suffering and our Earth’s peril.
We must learn to welcome the divine feminine back, court her as a lover, tend to her, sing songs to her, listen to her. We need to let her hold us, teach us and heal us.
As a cis male, I am drawn to union with a woman. This external expression gives me language for approaching the divine feminine within myself. I know about bringing a lady flowers, I know about paying attention to a woman, I feel delight in seeing a woman and feeling the creativity move within me in her presence. Men need to court the divine feminine within themselves with as much energy as they court a partner. Women are already courting the divine feminine and we all can learn from each other on this journey.
The divine masculine, a topic for another article, must also rise. Then a sacred union formed deep within our beings becomes the basis from which we walk on this earth. Living from an internal sacred union becomes our gift to ourselves and to the world, restoring balance and forming other sacred unions.
